What to have ready for your prior authorization request submission 

The submission checklist QRG details what's needed for a request for services. Providing these details reduces additional  requests for information. 

  • Review the ABA clinical review requirements
  • Provider data: Name, address, NPI and TIN
  • Member data: Name, address and Member ID*
    *Member ID search is a feature in the optimized experience  

Submit an ABA prior authorization request

First time users: you will need a One Healthcare ID (OHID) to log in to the Provider Express secure portal to submit requests. Register here for a OHID. 


In-network providersLog in to the secure portal:
1. Select 'Auths' from the upper right menu
2. Click the 'Auth request' tab
3. Choose 'Request a new authorization'
4. Select ABA Assessment or Treatment from the drop down
5. Complete the required fields and submit

About Applied Behavior Analysis

Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) is an individualized form of behavioral therapy. All ABA services require prior approval.  

ABA services are commonly prescribed for individuals diagnosed with autism. ABA has been proven to help individuals diagnosed with autism gain new skills and reduce behaviors that negatively impact quality of life.

Most eligibility can be verified online by signing in to the secure provider portal or by calling the Behavioral Health number on the back of the member's ID card.
