Rocky Mountain Health Plans
Reimbursement For Non-Licensed Clinicians

Rocky Mountain Health Plan (RMHP) Medicaid, Individual and Family and Child Health Plan Plus allow unlicensed practitioners to submit claims for services they provide to members. Unlicensed practitioners must be supervised by a licensed clinician who meets Colorado requirements for training, licensing and credentialing. In addition, the organization, group practice or facility that employs or oversees the unlicensed practitioner and supervising clinician must also meet state requirements.

Please review the following for more information. Then, complete the attestation form(s) and email to RMHPrae_bh_pr@uhc.com. Please note:

  • Organizations, groups, and facilities only need to submit an attestation for their entity. Individual attestations for each licensed supervising clinician are not required.
  • If your entity sees members for both Medicaid and Individual and Family plans, you must complete the attestation for both.
  • Attestations must be submitted before your entity engages in supervision practices for any RMHP member.
  • After the submission of the initial attestation, you must resubmit an attestation no later than January 1 of each calendar year that your entity plans to render services by unlicensed practitioners under supervision.

Join the Rocky Mountain Health Plans Network

Joining Rocky Mountain Health Plans (RMHP) it is a requirement (including their groups separately if not billing as an individual) to be enrolled in Health First Colorado (Medicaid)*. With your approved Colorado Medicaid ID, you can then submit a request to join Rocky Mountain Health Plans at providerexpress.com.

Once you select the application type depending on your practice, it will walk you through the process for credentialing. If you have not yet done so, you will also want to create a One Healthcare ID in order to login to Provider Express.

  • Creating a new login begins the process for full credentialing. Once the application has been submitted, you will receive an email notifying you of where your submission is in the process.
  • Logging in as an existing user and are already credentialed, email Optum here and we can review and issue any needed requests on our end to add Rocky Mountain Health Plans network to your existing UHC contract.

Please email rmhpRAE_BH_PR@uhc.com with any questions about the application process, or if you are needing any help with your Medicaid Enrollment prior to submitting any applications.

Finally, please update your demographic information by logging into Provider Express and selecting My Practice Info.

*Please Note: the Medicaid ID is not a required field on the application as it is not required to be enrolled with Medicaid to join UHC (only RMHP). To ensure RMHP Networks are added, make sure the Medicaid ID is included or this will delay enrollment.
