On March 23, New Mexico Medicaid will launch Turquoise Claims, a new claims system at YES New Mexico. Turquoise Claims will replace the current Medicaid claims management system (Omnicaid) and the New Mexico Medicaid Provider Web Portal. Providers who work with Turquoise Care/Medicaid members will need to use the new system starting on March 23.
The payer ID code for UnitedHealthcare Community Plan of New Mexico and Optum Behavioral Health will also change when the state switches to the new Turquoise Claims system. We’ll send you a reminder of the change.
For a smooth transition and to avoid claim denials and delays, please follow these instructions:
Note: Claims submitted with the incorrect payer ID code during these timelines will be denied and you'll need to submit a corrected claim.
Besides using a different payer ID, there’s no change to the way you submit claims. You’ll follow the same process as usual, whether you file claims electronically using EDI, online through the Provider Express secure portal or by mail.
Two options are available: Instructor-led virtual training and self-paced training, whichever is easiest for you. Log in to your YES.NM.GOV account, then select the Learning Management System (LMS) link. Please note: If you have not created an account, follow these step-by-step instructions: Accessing the Learning Management System (LMS).
