Optum welcomes 10,000 members in 16 Florida counties

Nearly 10,000 Florida residents can be "Optum-istic" about their behavioral health care next year. That's because Ultimate Health Plans Medicare Advantage members covered by a C-SNP or D-SNP plan will be transitioning from Carelon Behavioral Health to Optum for their behavioral health services effective Jan. 1, 2026.

No action is required on your part. You will be automatically included in the provider network for these plans. Reimbursement for services will align with your existing Medicare fee schedule.

Optum will manage behavioral health services for members living in 16 Florida counties: 

Continuity of care
Members won’t experience an interruption in service(s) or care coordination during this transition. Ongoing treatment that was previously authorized by Carelon prior to Jan.1, 2026 will be honored for the duration of the authorization or up to 90 days, whichever is first.
