June 2025 Top of Mind

Southern California wildfire support has been extended to Sept. 15, 2025, for providers

Assistance for providers impacted by the state of emergency or health emergency has been extended to Sept. 15, 2025. The assistance is in place so providers can focus on providing member care. Accommodations  include expediting reviews for prior approval, pre-certification, and referral request(s) as well as automatic extensions for authorizations and claim submissions:

• Existing prior authorizations are automatically extended by 180 calendar days, eliminating the need to submit another prior authorization request for previously authorized services

• Extending the claim-submission deadlines for contracted and non-contracted providers to submit claims under California Code of Regulations, title 28, section 1300.71(b) to at least 365 days from the date(s) of service

• Extending the minimum time for a provider to dispute overpayments from 30 business days to 180 calendar days

• Displaced providers can deliver care from appropriate alternative settings, such as mobile clinics or temporary locations

To leverage available assistance, you must provide geographical details of your affected location(s) by calling 1-800-999-9585. More information is available online
at Live and Work Well (password: clinician).
