Get time back by submitting your prior authorization requests online

Who doesn’t like convenience?  That’s what you get with Louisiana’s new online process for submitting Commercial prior authorization requests.

Behavioral health providers are now able to use the standard Louisiana online prior authorization form when requesting authorization of services. This applies for members covered by Commercial health plans for most levels of care.* The only exceptions are for inpatient, residential or partial hospitalization services. The  standardized form is available for use under Louisiana House Bill 468 (LA HB 468).

How to complete the standardized form

1. Access the prior authorization form on Providerexpress.com
2. Complete the form – be sure to fill in all fields marked mandatory
3. Submit the form – you should see a confirmation page after the successful completion

Note: Authorizations won’t be denied if the electronic form isn’t used, but the turnaround time could be longer.

To request authorization for inpatient, residential or partial hospitalization

1. Log into the Provider Express secure portal with your One Healthcare ID and password
2. Select Auth Option from the menu
3. Choose Review Online
4. Complete the request
