Change to UnitedHealthcare Community Plan of Minnesota Medicaid coverage for 2025
Effective Dec. 31, 2024, UnitedHealthcare Community Plan of Minnesota will no longer be participating in Minnesota Medicaid programs. This includes Medical Assistance, MinnesotaCare, MSHO, MSC+ and SNBC.
This means Minnesota Medicaid members will need to select a new managed care plan for behavioral health care beginning Jan. 1, 2025. Members were notified of this change in October and November 2024.
What this means for you
- Services rendered through Dec. 31, 2024 should be submitted to Optum Behavioral Health for reimbursement as you do today.
- Claims beginning Jan. 1, 2025: You’ll need to check your network status with the member’s new plans before their first appointment with you in the new year to ensure you participate in that plan’s network.
- We encourage you to ask members for this information in December, if possible.
- During your first appointment in the new year, ask the member for their new ID card and update your records with the new plan information.
